concept
The idea behind this project is to put the subject front and center. Hair, make-up and styling are secondary. Most tests put an emphasis on style, mood and fashion. As a result the model gets lost. The main complaint I’ve heard from models is that they end up not looking like themselves after tests they’ve done in the past. This is a pared back version of a fashion test. It’s all about the model.
Location
My home studio is located in the heart of Little Italy, NYC - easy to get to by subway, car, helicopter or whatever your preferred mode of transportation is. In the interest of confidentiality full address will be provided once we confirm dates. Not a fan of stalkers. The other advantage is that we’re a stone throw away from SOHO so if you want to shoot location, that’s totally possible and super easy to get to. We just might have to do it super early. It turns into a circus after 9AM.
styling
Shot 1 - basics
Tops: shirt or classic tee, black or white no graphics, nothing too loud.
Bottoms: jeans, blue or black
Shot 2 - editorial portrait natural light
This one has a bit more room to play with. Can be a blazer, a coat, a suit, something a bit more elevated.
Shot 3 - white brick wall with flash
This has to feel a bit more dynamic, you’re free to move!
shot 4 - ON location (optional)
This can be basics or elevated depends on what you need for your book.
Shot 5 - short VIDEO reel
Pretty self explanatory this one.
workflow
I have an iPAD set up so you can see yourself as we’re shooting in real time. We can adjust looks and decide what works and what doesn’t as we’re shooting.
We’ll make selects together (I know, that never happens). Usually we end up with 15-20 final images.
There’s minimal retouching involved, I’ll cover blemishes and temporary imperfections but that’s it.

Studio shoot with 20-30 final images + short video delivered within one week $500
Location shoot (add-on) $100
Location shoot only $500
HMU (optional) $300
Styling (optional) $300
Additional info
To confirm the date it’s 50% of total fee (non refundable). The other 50% is due once I deliver finals.
If you opt for HMU or STYLING that has to be paid in full before the shoot. I work with a wonderful team of pro’s and they need to be paid if they hold days for us.
Booking through agencies might result in different pricing. Not sure. Sometimes they cover tests. I work with W360, Wilhelmina, Supreme, Next and a few more.
Payment can be done via Venmo, Zelle, Direct Deposit or Credit Cards. With credit cards there will be a convenience fee. I use Stripe and they charge me something like 4-5%.
