Heart and soul over form and function

As you can probably tell the website had a lot of work done to it. It’s something that I’ve been thinking about for awhile but it was a 40 minute phone conversation with F. that pushed me over the edge. In a nutshell she told me to stop worrying about what I think people want to see and just make it like what I’d like to see. It took a few weeks and a lot of digging through the archives, countless hours debating with S. and T. over what should go where and why but we got it done. And it was worth it. It feels a lot more like what I’d like it to be.

Damn the torpedoes!

New work

On that valiant note from earlier here’s a new video I did for Nish Niche. It’s less product descriptive and a lot more emotion.

In the wild

I had an assignment last year that was a bit out of my wheelhouse - set photographer for a reality cooking show. I didn't even know such a position existed until I was presented with the opportunity. I just thought they pulled stills from video. Did a bit of research, asked around and decided to go for it. Fast forward a year later I'm aimlessly browsing for a new show to watch and I stumble upon my stills on HBO Max. A pleasant surprise! The whole experience was awesome! An amazing crew of super talented people.

Plus it's really cool to see your work on HBO.

Last but not least on the work in the wild side - a series of educational videos I shot for NatureLab Tokyo are live on Ulta. For people with hair this is a big deal. For my ego this is a big deal. For my scalp? Well… I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for late in life hair boom.
